Hey there. Farinelli here. So um, the hamsters did in fact revolt again, nearly destroyed the episode but my l33t skills saved it somehow, and I’m basically left to apologize for the volume issues in this episode. You do not want to know what happened while I was working on this episode. And even if you do want to know, I don’t want to tell you. What I will tell you though, is that this week’s episode focuses on the last, newest, and debatably the most promising of the big 4 smartphone OSs - Google Android. Zi Yong from CodeAndroid joins us in sharing with you the pros (what, what cons?) of the Android system - what it has brought to the table, what companies have done, and what will be done with it in the near future. Unboxing time! This time it’s the new HP Mini 110, the new netbook that was launched in Bejing during the HP Touch The Future Now event. I was blessed to have won a unit of the HP Mini 110 thanks to the HP Power To Change contest and all the people who put me as their referrer when you guys downloaded the application.
The Making of Gear65 #28
Ever wonder what we use to edit our weekly gadget show, and how we do it? Well, know you can find out! In ten minutes, I attempt (several times) to produce Episode #28 of Gear65, featuring the Canon 500D, to give you an idea of some of the tools and tricks that we use to edit Gear65.
I used to mock iMovie 08 when it first came out, but after I gave it a try, I realised how much it could help speed up our production process, and after iMovie 09 came out, to even do fancy stuff like Picture-in-Picture while we’re at it! Hope you learn something about iMovie 09, and realise that it’s actually a really powerful video editor if you know how to use it well.

Shit happens.. and it happened to us this week. The hamster which power our rendering farm went on strike over the weekend. Thus, had to render the episode manually this week… Hence, the precious discussions on the Month of SmartPhones, your nearly illegal byte of the week, a quick round of refresh with local and social networking news and ofcourse everything from that Apple keynote was delayed for a few days.. Unboxing the Samsung Jet
Here is the unboxing video of the new Samsung Jet, Samsung’s latest smartphone that was announced last night at the Samsung Unpacked event. The lucky dog me won it at the lucky draw last night during the launch event.
Relax ah, I’ll do a first look and proper Gear65 review later.
